I’m so excited to share with you today something that I have been dreaming about for a long time and that is the new wood flooring reveal in the kitchen and sunroom! Last November we decided to update our kitchen by installing new countertops and backsplash.
We started the project right before Thanksgiving (who does that?) and it was complete Christmas Eve, just in time for us to host Christmas! You can see that post HERE. Although we loved the new look in the kitchen we still felt that the flooring could be updated. You can read about why we wanted to update our old cherry hardwood flooring and why we chose to partner with BuildDirect , in this post Here.

We are so happy with our choice of a wide plank engineered white oak in the color Sedona Silver from BuildDirect! It gives just the touch of rustic charm we were going for and adds to the French country vibe we love.

We had the new wood flooring installed throughout the kitchen, sunroom, family room and into the dining room. These rooms are all open to each other so it makes sense for them to all be the same flooring. This makes the enter space feel bigger and more open and airy.
Our contractor will be coming back next week to finish installing the new wood flooring throughout the rest of the main level, which includes the foyer, formal living room, front office and back study. I can’t wait for it all to be finished and to get all the furniture and decor back in place!

The new wood flooring takes on different color tones depending on the time of day. The Sedona Silver is a very neutral cool toned light brown and is just perfect for our home!
As you can see I’ve added some touches of Fall decor here in the kitchen and sunroom. I’ll be sharing a closer look of that in a fun blog hop coming next week so be sure to check back for that!

The kitchen opens to the sunroom and I am so happy we carried the same wood flooring into this room as well.

I have a few more changes in mind for the sunroom including a bigger rug and maybe a chandelier. I’ve been thinking of adding white shiplap to this room for awhile now but need to find a carpenter to do the install. What do you guys think? Should I pull the trigger and do shiplap? I think it would add a bit of character to the space.
