I spoke about this in some detail back in January, but with recent gas prices, I thought it would be pertinent at this time. Not to mention that I have now found video of the innovation in action and we have many more subscribers now who may not have seen it.
The previous post, which can be found HERE, was in regards to giant, football field sized kites being used to harness the power of wind on Trans-Atlantic freighters. For more information, check out my previous entry from the link above. For this innovation in action, check out this video. Pretty cool really.

So its now been 7 years since 9/11/01. Hard to believe I know. Check out what a few Texas A&M students created in a small Tuscan town while studying abroad. The Memorial is an artistic representation of the fallen towers from that fateful day in 2001. It is created in pink travertine and is the first September 11 monument erected outside of the United States.
For a complete recap of the project, see the article at thebatt.com , a student paper at Texas A&M.

So you have completed your project but you have a handful of left over pieces. What do you do with it? Probably not a bad idea to keep a couple of pieces as a “just in case” insurance policy but then what?
Here is something we did at the house with pieces of slate cut into 4″x4″ pieces. Turns out those tiles can be made into quite a handsome back splash. Nicer than throwing it out!
