The power of forum.

I spent the day yesterday with a number of my forum members from the Young President's Organization.  They continue to make such a profound impact on me and my business.  I have been a member for about 6 years and I still can't believe how much I learn and grow from this group of people. The idea of YPO is to exchange ideas, pursue learning, and share strategies to achieve personal growth and professional success.  The organization is then broken down into groups of 7-10 people called … [Read more...]

You never know where you’re going to find inspiration

Rollie's Restaurant

I just got back from a vacation to Mexico with my family. It sure was nice to get out of the Vancouver rain and have some real rest and relaxation. oh ya!!! and some surfing too.    While there, our family went for breakfast one day at Rollie's restaurant. For the purpose of the report, … [Read more...]

What does it take to build a great company?

Amazon Job

I have always been fascinated by entrepreneurs who invent their own future by going against the wisdom of the crowds and creating something special from an idea. Special thanks to Techcrunch.com  for finding this beauty. It shows what Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos was thinking years before his "actual" success. More on this in another post!!! … [Read more...]

Good resource when building your business

For all of the entrepreneurs out there, I came across this site  www.thefunded.com.  It is a great resource for raising money to grow your business. I know that when my business partner and I started BuildDirect.com, a resource like this would have saved us a lot of time.  If you have not raised money from a VC, it can be a daunting experience. The right partner can make all the difference in your business and conversely, the wrong partner can be disastrous.   The unique thing about the … [Read more...]
