NAHB National Green Building Standard: Not Here Yet

A clarification here for anyone reading Floor Covering Weekly's October 13 2008 supplement "The Green Guide."  A story on page 12 suggests the National Home Builders' Association Model Green Building Guide has already been declared a national standard by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The story says, "At the 2008 International Builders show, the NAHB launched its biggest initiative to date: the National Green Building Standard (NGBS), a joint effort of the NAHB and the International … [Read more...]

FSC is a sprawling international not-for-profit with … [Read more...]

Life Cycle Analysis: The Case to Exclude Shipping

Try typing “Non-tariff Trade Barriers” into Google and you don’t find CAN/CSA-ISO 14021. How odd! Well, give it a year or so and see what happens. My guess is that Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade will have more than a few issues to deal with. The foregoing alphabet soup is ID for Canada’s new international standard for environmental marketing. The standard is the foundation of Plus 14021 – Environmental Claims: A guide for industry and advertisers, a new … [Read more...]
