Preserving bamboo environs for Pandas and other species is a huge part of regulated bamboo forestry in China. Luckily, it’s such a tough, fast growing plant that making flooring, and other products, while making sure that the species that count on bamboo for their diets are two efforts that can co-exist. I love bamboo! It’s used a lot in landscaping in my neighborhood because of how fast it grows. Are there any examples out there of people growing their own bamboo for use in DIY projects? That’d be the ultimate in sustainability – though a bit of a wait for the end product.
