About Hardwood Flooring Species: Red Oak Floors

The next installment in our hardwood flooring species series is Red Oak hardwood floors, which is something of a standard against which other domestic hardwoods are judged.  Here’s BuildDirect Co-Founder Rob Banks to explain more:

In short, red oak is porous, with an open grain.  And it is the baseline species when it comes to comparable hardness, too.
